About Me
My art is a healing medium for the soul, for the heart, for health, and for everyday life. The watercolors soften my emotional injuries, smooth my anxiety for the future, and ease my fear for the unexpected. My creations are stories inspired by my daily life, inspired by my, almost cinematic, dreams.
I travel and observe fragments of earth from above. I paint nature as I imagine it, as I dream it, as I see it, and as I feel it. This experience breathes life into my soul. This is my offering of love, care, and energy to others. It helps me transcend illness, obstacle, or burden. This is my pathway to healing. My voyage of joy.
Water is the element which connects us all and gives life. The Aegean Sea surrounds me and connects me to mother nature. The tree trunks on the island of Crete, in Chania, found in my final MFA project, are a conduit to the light of my spirituality, the light of my mental health and healing. I keep on returning to that which gives me strength and inspires me to create and move forward.
Care Matters. Care is an exchange of love and affection; it is pure, unconditional, non-transactional, timeless. In the silence there is something we long for: care, love and friendship. This circle of life never ends - it is fluid and eternal. We cherish these moments of understanding, the beauty, ourselves, and all of creation.
I honor humanity and nature and all that is in them; However, there is always a juxtaposition, a contrast of emotions. Life (Eros) and death (Thanatos). Destruction and rebirth. My art is an expression of love, care, and devotion for self and others. Care for my surroundings, care for the people who support me all these years, care for the vulnerable ones, care for my family, care for those who helped me see inside me and realize the beauty of simple things that are transformed into matters of importance in my life and for my wellbeing.
The fluidity of my art is a testimony to freedom and to the beauty found in nature. Nothing is immoveable. This is how I choose to live life – fluid, open, with love and caring. This personal philosophy is expressed in my art through the language of watercolor.
